By Jim Dower: Former World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight champion Edwin Valero (27-0, 27 KO’s) was put to rest in a pivate burial earlier today in the cemetery of Christ the King Gardens on Wednesday in the city of El Vigia, in Venezuela. And his wife, Jennifer Carolina Viera de Valero was reportedly buried in the same cemetery yesterday on Tuesday. As of now, there’s no word on who will get custody of the Valero’s two children, one 9 and the other 5. Valero’s mother in law could end up getting custody of them, depending on how the juvenile court rules. Valero, a devastating knockout puncher, took his own life on Monday while in jail for the alleged murder of his wife, which had taken place the day before on Sunday.
